Basic Intensive Workshop
Lectures, role plays and experiential exercises, demonstrations, skills practice, discussion and audiovisual learning. The workshop is conducted in sessions over four to four-and-one-half days. It is directed by Dr. Wubbolding.
Basic Practicum
Following the successful completion of the Basic Intensive Workshop, participants will complete a minimum of 30 hours work over a period of five to six months in meetings with a certified RTCT supervisor/facilitator. Work will include a series of meetings and assignments designed to enhance the participant’s knowledge of RT/CT. Also included are additional role plays and experiential activities, skills practice and casework.
Advanced Intensive Workshop
This workshop focuses more intensively on the study of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy concepts. And participants will have opportunities to exercise their understanding of the concepts in additional role play and skills-building. A senior faculty member of the William Glasser Institute supervises and facilitates the Advanced Intensive Workshop. AIW is conducted over four to four-and-one-half days.
Advanced Practicum
Study in this section of the program is designed to further prepare the participant for certification. Conducted over a 12-month period, the practicum requires 30 hours of concentration on the intense practice and demonstration of skills, deeper understanding of Reality Therapy/Choice Theory and its applications. An Advanced Practicum Supervisor/Facilitator, who will assist the participant in preparation for certification, leads the program.
Certification Week
Conducted over four to five days, Certification Week provides the opportunity for candidates to demonstrate readiness to become RTC. In the course of the week, participants are involved in demonstrations of readiness for certification, self-evaluation and review by peers and the instructor. The participant will demonstrate skills in using Reality Therapy in familiar and unfamiliar role plays. In addition, the participant will present a 15- to 20-minutes program or mini-workshop on a topic related to Reality Therapy, Choice Theory or Lead Management concepts. At the conclusion of Certification Week, the successful participant will be awarded the RTC designation.
